The Importance of Health :

Good health is one of the most precious possessions. It gives you the ability to enjoy life and reduce stress, improve your appearance and eliminate diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke.

Defining Health:

What makes a person healthy? In today’s complex world, one might be hesitant to start with a definition for health. However, it is important to note that health should not be considered simply as the absence of disease or illness. Rather, it is a state in which an individual maintains functional capacity and performs normal tasks despite the presence of some obstacles (i.e., multiple illnesses), holds stable work and social roles, copes optimally with life stresses, and feels positive toward himself/herself

The Dimensions of Health:

The Dimensions of Health is the first book in its kind to explore the dimensions of health and wellness as a whole, from conception to afterlives, rather than from infancy to adulthood. Author Thaddeus P. Huber aims to show us how all of these aspects - body, mind and spirit - are interwoven in our lives, and why we cannot truly experience them separately.

Achieving Optimal Health:

Optimal Health is a near-term definition that has several stages: gaining, maintaining, improving. At each configuration, it is possible to make small gains in health and maintain better health over time. Since the individual perceptions of well-being are subjective, the goal for everyone should be to reach Optimal Health based on their values and priorities.
