How do you maintain health and fitness?
Measure and Watch Your Weight:
If you want to lose weight, sustaining a consistent exercise routine is key. However, it’s not enough to just show up once per day and hop on your treadmill or do some crunches (though those are great choices!). Weight loss requires you to measure and watch your weight over time by taking the diary of your body into account.
Limit Unhealthy Foods and Eat Healthy Meals:
The best food for your health and fitness is the food you crave. If you crave more carbohydrates, protein and fats, then have those foods first. And if you don't, then don't give into temptation by eating junk food or sugary treats that are unhealthy for your waistline!
Take Multivitamin SupplementsDrink Water and Stay Hydrated, and Limit Sugared Beverages:
Water is your friend. Drink lots of it, especially during hot weather. Stay organized and know where healthy snacks are kept in your home.
Exercise Regularly and Be Physically Active:
Regular exercise and physical activity can help lower your risk of dying from heart disease, stroke, and other illnesses linked to a sedentary lifestyle. The US Surgeon General has recommended at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, 75 minutes per week of strength training, or an equivalent combination of both for all adults for the health benefits outlined below. It's important to talk with your doctor about what you can do safely and effectively so that you reach your goals.
Reduce Sitting and Screen Time:
Sitting less and moving more can improve your posture, strengthen your bones, and combat stress.
Get Enough Good Sleep:
Getting enough good sleep is more important than you may think. Not only can it improve your mental and physical health, it allows for a better quality of life — and if you don't get enough sleep, there's no telling how that can impact your life!
Go Easy on Alcohol and Stay Sober:
It is easy to get drunk on alcohol. But to stay sober, you must make a commitment to staying out of bars and off the streets. Consumption of alcohol is the number one cause of divorce, domestic violence and even murder in America. But with the right program and support there are plenty of alternatives on how to deal with this problem.
